Week 10. It means that Webskill Spring 2012 program is about to finish. Yes, the program is finished, but the spirit, efforts, ideas, skills, friendship among participants and instructors must not be finished and over. Instead, we must develop and increase our spirit, efforts, ideas, skills, friendship for better future both professionally and personally.
I have learned so many things from this course and mostly they are new and inspiring. I have written in general what I learned and did during this course from week 1 to week 9 in my week 9 post on this blog.
What I learned much from this webskill course is the great opportunity to help both teacher and learners to improve their teaching and learning more efficient, motivating, and fun using technology and internet. Teacher can easily create student-centered based activities like Project-based Learning (PBL) using free tools such as Nicenet for discussion, Wiki to submit certain tasks, Webquest, and many more.
From this webskill I also get many interesting links to website that provide great information, exercises, materials, that I can develop as the source of teaching and learning that I save in my delicious http://www.delicious.com/hermanto/. I also learn how to assess students using rubric and I can make rubric with certain criteria we want using available template via rubistar. It much help.
Well, there are so many other things that are very interesting that I can't tell here. In short, I learned a lot of interesting and inspiring topics from this webskill class and I want to try to implement some of them in my next semester classes.
Hermanto,
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to read everybody's comments and find out how we all see the different elements we individually liked the most about this course. I didn't highlight PBL in my post but now that I read it in your blog entry, I have to admit that learning about PBL was very important since it can be a great tool for language teachers.
All the best in your teaching activities and Happy Father's Day!!!
Sandra
Hi Sandra!
DeleteThank you for reading my post. I hope we can keep in touch!
All the best!
Hi Hermanto!!
ReplyDeleteReading your post made me realize that I forgot to mention Nicenet (!!) as a great tool to use in the class! Well, anyway! And of course I agree with you that PBL is a great way for students to learn in a different and more exciting way!
Keep in touch and try to get some rest! You deserve it!
Hi Georgia!
DeleteHave a good try with PBL, hope it will be exciting. Finishing this course does not mean I have more relaxing time I have. Many other things to do are waiting. That's life. Just let it flow and enjoy.
Great to keep in touch with you.
Hermanto

Keep in touch Poncho!
Hermanto
Hi Hermanto,
ReplyDeleteNo, of course it isn't the end! I couldn't agree more with you saying that the spirit, efforts, ideas, skills and friendship should not end.
I saw the pictures of your baby. He's so cute! I know you are a very proud and happy father. I'm writing this in my very last comment because, from my point of view, the family moments are the most important. Well, I guess you'll discover lots of great modern techniques together with the boys :)))
Enjoy!
Ruta
Hi Ruta!
DeleteYes surely I will. He will be token for this webskill Ruta. I hope we can keep in touch.
Hermanto
Hi Hermanto,
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Ruta said here. Really, family is the most important. I am so impressed with your ability to have a newborn in the house, teach your usual classes, and still have time to take this course! Your poor wife! I'm sure she's happy it's over and she can have someone to help her change the diapers!
Thanks so much for all your great contributions to the course.
Jodi
Hi Jodi!
DeleteThank you for your guidance throughout the course. I got so many useful things from it. Yes, now I have more time at night to pay attention to my little baby than my laptop and more time to prepare implementing what I got from the course in my classes.
Thank you Jodi.
